Leading learning in community

As Assistant Director of KESHER at Larchmont Temple, I work alongside educators, clergy, staff, learners, and families to strengthen Jewish learning across the congregation. That includes helping redesign a K–7 spiral curriculum, mentoring educators, supporting the program's daily work, and building worship and learning experiences for people of different ages.

Midrash, made visible

VisualMidrash brings Jewish texts into conversation with the visual language of art. Each work begins with a verse, a rabbinic argument, or a silence in the text and uses image-making to ask what becomes visible when interpretation takes form. The project is both artistic and educational: a way to slow down, look closely, make an argument, and invite another reader into the conversation.

What Is VisualMidrash?

From Worship & Torah: Midrash begins in the conviction that a text can hold more than one responsible reading. VisualMidrash brings that practice into the language of images, making interpretation something we can examine, question, and teach with.

Art & Sofrut

Hebrew letters, Jewish mysticism, and scribal craft: a portfolio of works in which sacred language takes on living form. Made as study, spiritual practice, and connection.

Rabbinic work grounded in attention

Education and curriculum

I design and teach learning that connects from year to year and from the classroom to the rest of communal life. My current work includes K–7 curriculum development, educator support, family programs, and teaching across generations.

Pastoral presence

Three units of Clinical Pastoral Education and more than 1,500 encounters with patients and families taught me that care does not begin with the perfect words. It begins with attention, humility, and the willingness to remain present when answers are not available.

Songleading, worship, and teaching

I am a musical rabbi and songleader. Guitar and communal singing have been part of my Jewish life for more than twenty years. From Tot Shabbat and family tefillah to Shabbat and holiday worship, children’s choirs, camps, and classrooms, I use music to help a room breathe, participate, learn, and pray together.

In classrooms, sanctuaries, hospitals, and communal spaces, my work begins with the same commitments: listen closely, take the text seriously, and help people find a genuine way into Jewish life.

A road wide enough for compassion

Selected sermon: In a sermon on the Torah’s cities of refuge, I explored what a community owes both to people harmed by an accidental death and to the person who caused irreversible harm without intending it.
